Rewind – a new historical archive launched by the BBC

BBC Northern Ireland have developed three online history resources to assist teaching and learning about Northern Ireland history and politics. You can find out everything you need you need to know on the BBC webpage but here is a quick summary of what’s available:

  • Rewind is a new, searchable archive for over 16s with over 13,000 news items. Currently it covers the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s and it will be added to in the coming months and years.
  • Ten Chapters of the Northern Ireland Troubles is an award-winning multi-media series suitable for all – but particularly useful for GCSE History – based on the CCEA GCSE syllabus.
  • Armistice Day – an interactive learning experience about World War One, also suitable for everyone.

If you require further information about the resources, please contact the BBC at rewind@bbc.co.uk.
