Science Festival at Stormont

Exploding volcanos, the art of predicting earthquakes and creating a new and tasty toothpaste were just some of the fascinating experiments carried out by local school children at the recent ‘Science Festival at Stormont’.

The event which was hosted by the Geological Survey of Northern Ireland (GSNI) and the Education Service aimed to increase Primary School pupils’ awareness of Geology and earth science.

Size of the Assembly will not go below 90

The Northern Ireland Miscellaneous Bill (2013-14) has almost reached the end of the legislative process at Westminster. This proposed legislation, currently going through the House of Commons at Westminster, was introduced by the Secretary of State for NI, Theresa Villiers.

Local Children Deck the Great Hall with Christmas Cheer

Christmas came early to Parliament Buildings today when the winner and shortlisted entrants to the Northern Ireland Assembly Christmas Card competition gathered in the Great Hall to receive their awards from the Speaker and Principal Deputy Speaker.

Year 13 & 14 Teachers: New dates for the Let's Talk programme!

Based on the success of previous events in Belfast and Foyle, the Northern Ireland Assembly Education Service is working with The Peace and Reconciliation Group to bring a ‘Let’s Talk' event to a venue near you.

In addition to the event in Enniskillen on 18 October, we are now taking bookings for the following events in Parliament Buildings, Belfast:

"Let's Talk" - opportunities for Year 13 & 14 students to have their say

The 2013 programme consists of four events across Northern Ireland. The aims of these events are:

We know that not every school can visit Parliament Buildings. However, you can bring the Assembly to your classroom by taking part in our Outreach Programmes.
