UK Parliament Speaker's School Council Awards

Run by Parliament’s Education Service on behalf of the Speaker of the House of Commons, the Speaker’s School Council Awards is an annual competition that celebrates excellence in school councils.

It's easy to enter. Just tell us about the difference you made in your school or community. The size of your project doesn’t matter. It could be anything from increasing the number of recycling bins in your school to campaigning to save local wildlife.

Every infant, primary, secondary and special school in the UK is eligible to enter.

A winning school council will be selected from each of the four age categories:

  • Infant age (4-7)
  • Junior age (8-11)
  • Secondary age (12-16)
  • Young adults (17-19)

Winners will be invited to an awards ceremony and tour at Westminster and will be presented a trophy by the Speaker of the House of Commons. The deadline for the competition is Monday 9th January 2015.
