Science Festival ‘rocks’ the Long Gallery

To celebrate National Science and Engineering Week, the Education Service and the Geological Survey of Northern Ireland hosted an action-packed Science Festival in the Long Gallery. Over 100 children from eight local primary schools took part in the festival on Monday 12 March.

The Science Festival focused on the diverse geology and landscape of Northern Ireland. Pupils had the opportunity take part in a series of interactive workshops including exploding volcanoes, predicting earthquakes, making (and tasting) your own toothpaste, glacier racing, landslide-making, hidden water, making caves, and a fossil factory.
