On Tuesday 2 December 1999, power was devolved from Westminster to the Northern Ireland Assembly and its Executive.
This event marked the end of a century that tells the story of the changing relationships between Britain, Northern Ireland and Ireland, leading to the creation of the Northern Ireland Assembly and devolution of power to the people of Northern Ireland.
