People over the age of 18 can for the people they think will do the best job as MLAs.in an
Northern Ireland is split in to 18 different areas called constituencies. Each constituency chooses six. The who get the most become MLAs for their constituency. They look after the interests of the people who live there. There are 108 MLAs the people of Northern Ireland.
Most MLAs are members of groups called. People join a party because they agree with the party’s ideas about how Northern Ireland should be run.
