North West Regional College Talks Back
Following previous successful “Talks Back” events, North West Regional College will join forces with the Northern Ireland Assembly Education Service and Peace and Reconciliation Group to hold a exciting event aimed at sharing concerns about the development of the local region. The event takes place at the College's Foyle Building, Strand Road Campus, Derry-Londonderry on Friday 7th June 2013.
‘North West Regional College Talks Back’ will generate debate and discussion surrounding local economic and social issues which are prevalent in the North West today, and will aim to create conditions which can allow the need for suggested change to occur.
Chaired by journalist Paul McFadden, the event will cover a range of discussion topics including consideration for financial investment, infrastructure, economic stability as well as issues such as community development, sectarianism and good relations.
Panellists are Gregory Campbell MP MLA (DUP), Raymond McCartney MLA (Sinn Fein), Martin Melarkey, Senior Programmer for Communities and Education for Culture Company, Superintendent Stephen Cargin, PSNI and NWRC Student Union President Séan Deehan.
Audience participants will primarily be third-level students from the College who will have an opportunity to share their concerns about how the development of the region will affect their future goals after graduation, and participation will be encouraged throughout with the use of audience response technology.
