Key Stage 2 Teacher Training Event, Parliament Buildings, 14th June 2019

Our annual Key Stage 2 Teacher Training event is taking place in the Long Gallery of Parliament Buildings on Friday 14th June 2019.

This event is for Key Stage 2 teachers who wish to broaden their knowledge of how laws and government decisions are made. There will be sessions on the Northern Ireland Assembly and the UK Parliament. Content will focus on Personal Development and Mutual Understanding, in particular Strand II - Mutual Understanding in the Local and Wider Community: rules, rights and responsibilities. All attendees will receive resources for use in the classroom.

The programme is as follows:

09.30 - 10.00      Tea/Coffee and registration
10.00 - 10.45      Introduction to the Northern Ireland Assembly
10.45 - 11.30      Showcase of free programmes available & resources including new Eco Schools programme
11.30 - 12.15      Activities for the classroom
12.15 - 13.15      Lunch (provided)
13.15 - 14.45      The UK Parliament & the classroom
14.45 - 15.15      Optional Tour of Parliament Buildings
